The first issues of The Rural Educator were published in 1913.
The Rural Educator is the publication of the National Rural Education Association. Other journals published by the National Rural Education Association include The Country Teacher and The Journal of Rural Education. NREA was formerly known as the Department of Rural Education of the National Education Association. The Department of Rural Education published a number of bulletins and reports in the early part of the 20th century. These historic documents are archived at HathiTrust, a partnership of academic and research institutions that shared digitized resources from libraries around the world.
